I was first introduced to Mums in Biz when Nicky called me at Cheeky Monkeys. I think she’d heard that I was a mum in business and was interested to hear my story. I was struck by how passionate she was on the ‘phone, and it was really encouraging to chat to someone so professional yet incredibly personable.
I went along to the first Mums in Biz seminar and was very impressed with the amount of information that was covered. I was so pleased that it focussed much more on what it is important to mums rather than just small business owners. The Mums in Biz seminar strikes a balance between touching on important aspects such as Tax and NI yet focussing on more specialist information that helps mums in business. Along with a light lunch, interesting exercises and a wealth of handouts with excellent websites and contacts, been given the opportunity network; the best thing I walked away with was a wonderful feeling of camaraderie and a sense of support and help.
Nicky is doing a fantastic job at promoting mums in biz and supporting this valuable part of the workforce! I would highly recommend any mum who is thinking about going into business or who needs a bit of help and encouragement to book up for a mums in biz - it’s probably going to be the best thing your baby-come-business brain will ever absorb!

I found the Mums in Biz workshop absolutely invaluable for consolidating my ideas about the business and galvanising me in to action that moved us forward. Talking to other mums in the same position was akin to getting the best kind of “business therapy” as the ideas and insights that were shared were not things I could have come up with on my own in my little home office. It restored my confidence in my idea, gave me a methodology to revise my plans and actually enabled me to start implementing some of my long-parked ideas for growing the business. It was also a fun and invigorating day!
I am still in contact with some of the people I met and I look forward to following up the initial session with further input from Nicky and the people she so expertly brings together!

I found the Mums in Biz seminar just what I needed as having never started a business before felt a bit lost and needed help and advice as to all the elements involved.I had my product but needed to know how to market,plan,time manage all the things the seminar provided with a team of positive and helpful mums who are out there doing it. Nicky’s brainstorming and group sessions was one of the best parts of the day for me and really gave me new ideas and helped me plan where to go next.Galia’s case study was very inspiring as she is growing her business along side motherhood and really showing us it can be done.
